About This Breeding
We are expecting medium to high drive Border Collies that should be medium to large size that will excel in frisbee, agility, herding, dock diving, flyball and obedience. All puppies should be black/white, or black tricolor and have rough coats. All of our puppies are sold on limited registration (not for breeding) unless otherwise discussed. Puppies will be AKC and ABCA registered. No puppies will be affected by CEA/CH, TNS, CL, IGS, DM, or MDR1. Puppies are raised in our home and are well socialized to people, kids, dogs, cats, small animals, traveling (hotels, car rides, starting at 2 weeks of age), different surfaces, noises, etc. We will also be using the Puppy Culture Puppy Raising method. Contact us for more information about how we raise our puppies.
To be considered for this breeding, its best to start communication with us now. We take pride in our puppies and we want to establish a relationship with all of our prospective puppy owners. Most of our litters are fully reserved before a breeding has taken place, of course one or to spots may become available if our girl surprises us with a puppy or two.
**PLEASE NOTE** we do not begin our puppy selection process until around 6 weeks of age in an effort to place each puppy in the best matched home possible. We appreciate our puppy buyers patience in waiting to know which baby will be theirs forever!!
Meet the Parents!
Joey is a lovely girl with an amazing temperament and structure to match! She is very serious and a dedicated little workaholic who wants nothing more than to make everyone around her smile. She and her owner Nichole Curry share an incredible bond an actively train and compete in Herding, Agility, Disc and Flyball. She is also an extremely talented Trick dog and has mastered over 200 tricks, she loves to learn new things! We have known Joey for a few months now and have admired her beauty, brains and spunk. She reminds us very much of our Dallas, which might be why we love her so much!! Joey has also shown amazing instinct for working stock and comes from strong herding lines. We are hopeful that she will pass down her strong instinct and "eye" for stock to her offspring! Joey debuted in Flyball in July of 2014 and gained her FD title at her first tournament! She currently holds 2 Championship titles in Flyball! Joey has recently started training in disc and dock diving and is showing a lot of fantastic potential for both sports! She competed in disc at an UpDog Competition for the first time in December 2015 and placed 2nd Place in 4 Way Play in a very competitive group of dogs!!!! When Joey isn't competing, she enjoys hanging out with Nichole at the barn. Joey has been known to "walk" the horses and will lead them around the pasture or barn by their bridle! She also enjoys swimming and chasing dragonflies!!
Here is what Joey's owner, Nichole has to say about Joey!
"Joey is my sweet and gentle girl that has an amazing work ethic with an off switch to boot! I received this wonderful dog from my parents as a gift, and she has been my best friend in everything I do since she came home. When I first went and held her I said “it’s my little Joey,” with no clue as to why I did, but it stuck! She always was full of energy, yet she was a tad reserved when it came to strangers when she was young, she very quickly grew out of that as we began to play sports and enter the “dog world.” She gives her all in everything I ask of her, regardless of how difficult or impossible the task may seem. She tries 100% to please people and do her best in everything she does. Joey in the working world is an extremely driven girl that has amazing focus and eagerness to play. She began competing in flyball when she was 1.5 years old and gained her first title in one race. She then began working on learning agility, and has shown a great love for the game. She also began herding and has proven some amazing potential as a stock dog, she loves "playing" her sheepies! She recently began training for dock diving and disc, and had her first disc competition in December 2015, at which she placed 2nd in 4 Way Play out of a large group of great disc dogs. We struggled with some crazy wind, but she and I had an amazing first time playing with disc for real. In addition to Joey being a working dog she is very well-versed in tricks, she knows over 200! We began learning tricks when she was very young, and she has always been very enthusiastic about learning new tricks, she evens creates some of her own spunky little tricks. On the flip side, Joey has an off switch like no other, she is very laid back and relaxed when not working. She is capable of sitting quietly when there is a large commotion going on, or when Im studying for school. Some of Joey’s favorite activities are napping around a fire, chasing dragonflies, and swimming at the beach"
Meet Tex! Tex is our phenomenally talented, handsome, driven and sweet, adrenaline junky of a boy! I was lucky enough to be blessed with Tex as my first border collie, he has been an amazing team mate and partner and I am so lucky to have him in my life. His drive, determination and athleticism compliment his sweet, funny spunky nature. Tex has always been a character, in puppyhood he was thoughtful and wise, as an adult he remains brilliant and driven, but with a goofy confidence about him. . He matured quickly, eager to try every new activity, sport, exercise and task I threw at him. Tex could easily be described as an "over achiever", he was a prodigy as a puppy, quickly grasping any exercise or task. He began competing in Dock Diving at only 5 months old, achieving jumps over 13 feet! In his first Skyhoundz disc competition at 14 months old, he earned an invite to the Skyhoundz World Championships by winning Bullseye with a score of 52 points. Soon, Tex was unstoppable in many different venues. Tex currently trains and competes in Agility, Dock Diving, Herding, Canine Disc and Rally Obedience. He is a phenomenal demo dog and is used regularly to help teach group obedience and behavioral lessons. Tex is also my main "show stopper", as a professional dog trainer, it is a huge benefit to me to have a dog like Tex who is so reliable, enthusiastic and down right flashy in his obedience, tricks and working ability. He loves to show off and loves to make people smile. Tex is always my last dog (the show stopper!) to use any time we perform a demo, perform at half time shows or entertain anyone. There is no atmosphere that he can't work in, fairs, schools, expos, andbasketball games with bands; Tex has done it all. He absolutely loves working with his mom and performing, one of his favorite parts of our show is when he gets to play frisbee with kids! He is always eager to play, but incredibly gentle when he returns the disc to them and will even place it right in their hands! The crowds always love Tex's favorite trick, the handstand, and Tex runs faster and jumps higher when he's performing in front of a crowd!
His current Dock Diving Personal Best is 25 feet, 3 inches. He currently competes in the Masters level of AKC agility and has earned an invite to the Skyhoundz World Championships 3 years in a row. Tex also serves as a part time Service Dog, serving back up to our other male, Dallas. Tex has also trained on stock and has a fantastic level of instinct. He has a lot of eye and a lot of power over his stock. He is an eager worker with a no quit attitude. He is the kind of dog who can keep his cool under extreme pressure, maintain control of his stock, and do it with a bit of style too! Tex debuted in his first herding trial in February of 2016 with a PERFECT weekend, going 2/2 in his runs and earning 2 legs towards his Started Sheep title. He is a powerful dog with a no quit attitude and he handles his stock with the utmost confidence. There is no task Tex cannot handle and he attempts every command with enthusiasm and focus. There is no dog that can compare to Tex's working ability, personality, build, beauty and strength. He is truly a once in a lifetime dog. One of my favorite traits in Tex is the amount of heart he puts into everything he does. In fact, many people who watch Tex compete in disc have nicknamed him "Thunder hooves" because he hits the ground running so hard. His ground speed is nothing short of incredible and he consistently places in agility and disc amongst the fastest dogs in the world. He gives 100% in everything ever asked of him and his work ethic cannot be topped. However, Tex's best trait by far is his loving, happy and exuberant nature. He never fails to make me smile and can pick me up on the worst of days with one goofy, happy smile. Even if Tex never worked, performed or competed another day in his life, he'd still be my favorite dog and best friend. He has several favorite songs that he often sings along to for me on the way to work, he is the best singer I know! His contagious exuberance for life, incredible work ethic and "carpe diem" attitude is something we hope to pass down for many generations of border collies to come!
